This is a real sailing trip, not a motorboat trip with a mast. As soon as we leave La Lonja harbour, the engine is switched off and the Elan 50 heels into the wind, gliding through the bay at 7 to 8 knots. Take the helm, haul on a sheet or relax on the foredeck as Palma Cathedral slowly recedes behind you.
The boat is family-owned, and the skippers are locals who live on the island. Depending on the wind, we sail west towards Illetes and Cala Comtesa, or east along the cliffs past Cala Blava. We choose the quietest and least crowded bay, away from the big party boats.
At anchor, the water shifts from deep navy blue to crystal-clear turquoise—that is where our name comes from. Swim from the stern, paddleboard to the rocks or enjoy cold drinks and tapas in the shade. With no more than 11 guests, everyone has room on deck.
For more speed, book an e-foil lesson and learn to glide half a metre above the water. Most beginners stand confidently within the first hour. When the afternoon wind picks up, the return under sail is often the most beautiful sailing of the day.
